"I wrote this music over a period of three years, beginning in 1970,
in between fryings that left me a little burnt and amidst rabid
associations and commitments which detained me from recording it until
July 1973."
"Originally intended to be a series of songs, the music was,
out of necessity, reworked, expanded, and bloated into the instrumental
enigma that it now is."
"This being the case, I tend to view the album as a work of
happenstance, though not entirely; for it had occurred to me, over a
period of time that an orchestra of keyboard produced sounds would be an
interesting experiment. The actual recording was oftentimes tedious as
both my synthesizer and organ string settings were limited to monophonic
capabilities. The music was therefore, with the exception of drums and
piano, constructed one note at a time."
